birdfetch

A very quick command-line system information tool written in Rust 🦀. Some birbs are actually pretty commonly powered by crabs in the wild.

📋 Features

  • ✅ A cute ASCII owl visits your terminal 🦉✨
  • ✅ Displays username, hostname, OS, kernel, shell, WM, and colour palette
  • ✅ Minimal neofetch-like applet
  • ✅ No fuss; just works

🕊️ Lightweight

Pretty small, the binary is about 451KB with the correct optimizations!

⚡︎ Fast

Runs in ~6.2ms on even a modest laptop. Quick turnaround to become a hobbyist ornithologist if you ask me.

📄 Configuration

curl --proto '=https' --tlsv1.2 -sSf https://sh.rustup.rs | sh
git clone https://github.com/bilerden/birdfetch
cd birdfetch
cargo build --release

💻 Commands

All commands are run from the root of the project from a terminal or you can add it to your $PATH variable:
